2012:
Played in the East-West Shrine All-Star Game. Selected Second Team All-Big East
Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. Played in
13 games.
2011:
Playing center for the first time in his career, Turnley went on to start all
13 games at the position. Was the Panthers' most consistent performer up front
despite having to endure nagging foot injuries virtually all season.
2010:
Played in all 13 games, serving on special teams and as a backup left guard
behind starter Chris Jacobson.
2009:
Played in four games to earn his first letter (Youngstown State, Louisville, USF and Syracuse).
2008:
Redshirted as a true freshman.
High
School: Named to The Associated Press Pennsylvania Class AAA All-State Team
(second team). All-Parkway Conference. Two-year starter at offensive tackle for
Hopewell and a three-year varsity
letterman. Rated one of the top 40 prospects in Pennsylvania by Scout (No. 31) and Rivals (No.
40). PrepStar All-East Region. Helped team to the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs and
a 9-2 record as a junior. Played under Coach Dave Vestal. Selected to play in
the PSFCA East-West All-Star Game. Was also an all-conference performer in
basketball.
Personal:
Ryan Patrick Turnley, born 5/1/90, is the son of James and Kim Turnley.
Has one brother. Earned his bachelor's in communication and is pursuing a
second degree in administration of justice. Shares the same high school alma
mater (Hopewell) as legendary Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett, who won
the 1976 Heisman Trophy and led Pitt to the national championship that same
season.
