2017: Became the starting center as a junior. Started and played in all 13 games for the Red Raiders. Started in 21-consecutive games entering his senior season, which ranks second on the team. Veteran on an offensive line that featured a true freshman (Jack Anderson) at right guard and three sophomores (Travis Bruffy, Madison Akamnonu, Terence Steele) in the starting lineup. Part of a Texas Tech offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally for passing offense (9th), total offense (16th) and scoring offense (23rd). Offensive line also helped pave the way for 140.9 rushing yards per game, an improvement by nearly 40 yards from 2016. Named an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by the conference coaches.
2016: Appeared in eight games along the offensive line while making eight starts. All his starts came over the final eight games of the season. Switched between time at left guard and right guard throughout the year. Made his first career start at right guard at Kansas State (10/8). Also made starts on the right side against West Virginia (10/15), TCU (10/29), Texas (11/5), Iowa State (11/19) and Baylor (11/25). His two starts at left guard came against Oklahoma (10/22) and Oklahoma State (11/12). Member of a Red Raider offense that led the nation in passing offense and total offense. Unit also ranked among the nation’s leaders in third-down conversion percentage (third), first downs offense (third) and scoring offense (fifth).
2015: Redshirt season. Did not play. Scout team member.
2014: Played his freshman season at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill. NJCAA Region IV All-Region second team selection after helping lead the Chaparrals to a 6-4 record, including a 5-1 mark at home. Member of a Chaparrals offense that averaged 29.2 points per game. Team also averaged 401.6 yards per game, the majority of which that came through the passing game. Signed with Texas Tech with three years of eligibility remaining. Chose Texas Tech over Appalachian State, Northern Illinois, Coastal Carolina and Murray State.
High School: Attended Minooka High School, in Minooka, Ill. Mainly played center on the offensive line.
